Lacrosse Walls Make the best Lacrosse Players
Lacrosse is quickly becoming the fastest growing sport in the U.S. Participation in U.S. high school lacrosse grew 528 percent between 1990 and 2008, as per the National Federation of State High School Associations. Colleges are eagerly pushing forward their club teams to NCAA divisions. By recent accounts, there are more than 240 men's and more than 300 women's college lacrosse teams playing in Division I, II and III.
Well, I'm seeing a trend here that you can take advantage of if your child has love for the game. It's every parent's nightmare whether or not they can afford to send their child to college. Tuition has been spiraling out of control. Luckily, the increase in college lacrosse teams translates to an increase in Lacrosse scholarships available which in the coming years makes it more possible than ever to receive one.
Having said this, the best way to improve your game is to never let the stick out of your hands just like Mikey Powell did when he was young. Practice throwing to a Lacrosse Wall l, shoot on a net, and work on groundballs. Purchase a Lacrosse rebounder and work on those fundamentals. They are great tools that aid in practice, giving many repetitions and make passing and throwing second nature which is what you want.
What do all star Lacrosse players from the Gaits to the Powells have in common? They all have attained the magic number of practice hours under their belts. They practically ate, slept and breathed lacrosse. Researchers now judge that the magic number of practice hours for one to have dominance at their respective sport is 10,000 hours. You can guarantee that each one of the star players that are constantly mentioned throughout the lacrosse world have achieved that magic number.
The promising picture now from such studies propose that that ten thousand hours of practice is required to achieve the level of mastery associated with becoming a world class expert in anything. In study after study of basketball players. chess players, composers, artists and pianists, this number comes up again and again.
10,000 hours is an enormous amount of time to practice and is increasingly hard to dedicate time to with the advent of new technologies, facebook and every other distraction in life. It is only those who have supportive and encouraging parents that facilitate the life of a rising lacrosse star.
This is where practice plays a key role in deciding where your future will lie. Becoming an all-around player gives the best advantage. Playing in tournaments, watching games, listening to coaches and practicing stick skills make the best players.
Continue to hit the Lacrosse wall to maximum repetitions fine tuning those lacrosse skills for future success in the sport.
Good Luck!
