Attention Coaches:
3 Rivers lacrosse is going to take 2 travel teams (Varsity and JV Divisions)
to play in the Fast Break lacrosse LAX Premiere All Star Challenge (LAXPAC)
tournament the weekend of January 13-15 in Baltimore, MD. This tournament is
6 on 6 with players playing in 6 games minimum with playoffs and championship
games concluding on Monday the 15th. This tournament will be
attended by Division I, II and III coaches as well so the players that make
the team will receive exposure along with giving Western Pennsylvania Lacrosse
exposure.
In order to take the best team down to Baltimore we will have an open tryout on Sunday December 3rd at Pittsburgh Indoor Sports Arena in Harmarville. The tryouts will begin promptly at 11:30 and will go until 12:30 where we will convene and pick the team that day. All players who are trying out should be at the facility by 11:00 along with the attached registration forms filled out. If a player makes the team he will be responsible for paying his team fees ($275 to cover tournament expenses (entrance fees, warm-ups, uniform and hotel). Players will also be responsible for there own travel to and from Baltimore. This is so we can keep the expenses low for players. The Monday of the tournament is Martin Luther King Day so most players will have off from school that day.
We are asking that coaches’ invite only there top 8 players - 4 players in the junior and senior classes, and 4 players from the freshman and sophomore classes. We will be selecting only 22 players (20 Field players and 2 goalies) for each team so make sure you invite the best of the best.
Contact Dan Shea, Director, Men's Lacrosse, 3RL.at (cell) 412-613-9615, (home) 724-449-7234, or laxcoachshea@yahoo.com for registration form & waiver.

Coaches: Here is the template for submitting your schedule
to Andre Sanders: (WPSLA
Game Import Template.xls).
Click on it to open, or opposite click to download and "Save Target As".
You will need the spreadsheet program Excel to use it. If you don't have that
program, feel free to send your schedule to Andre via email or in an
attachment. If you do have excel, you will see on the template he has created
drop down windows for many categories so you only need to select from the
options what you need. If you can submit your schedule on this excel format,
it would be very helpful. If you can not, that's OK too. Just send it
along. Please don't forget to include both your home and away games so he can
cross check the schedules for any errors.
If you have any questions, email Andre Sanders at
aloa_assigner@yahoo.com or call
412-915-2807. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
Hempfield Middle School 8th grade team and 7th grade team
would like to host some WPSLA based teams on Saturday March 24, 2007 in
their Middle School Snowbuster Tournament that features a MS-A Division
and a MS-B division.
Please contact Doug Bailey at
It is a very exciting time to be associated with boys
lacrosse in Western PA. We are about a month away from the first games of the
regular season—a season that plays games over the next four months. That’s
right. After seniors have graduated, and in a few places, students have
started their summer vacations, the lacrosse season will be wrapping up and
crowning a state champion. And here in Western PA, lacrosse, the fastest
growing sport in the US, is alive and well, and gaining recognition throughout
the country. Some of the sport’s growth and success can be attributed to the
fabulous athletes that are raised here. They play football, and are great.
They play soccer, and are great. They play basketball, and are great.
Great athletes play lacrosse.
Following the lead of the NCAA programs, the Western Pennsylvania Scholastic Lacrosse Association (WPSLA) is excited to announce the 2007 Boys Lacrosse All American Watch List. Out of the more than 2000 high school, male athletes that play lacrosse in Western PA, 46 stand out because of their efforts, character, and elevated level of play. The WPSLA and U S Lacrosse (the national governing body for lacrosse at all levels) will honor six athletes with the title of All American at the league championships Saturday, June 2, 2007.
The All American
Watch List athletes by position are:
This is the first time
the WPSLA has presented this list of recognized athletes. The list has been
compiled to establish credibility and increase recognition for the
non-traditional sport. The truth is, it’s the fastest game on two feet. With
football-like collisions, basketball footwork, the field spacing of soccer,
the hand eye coordination of hockey and a ball that travels upwards of 100
miles per hour, it’s arguably the most entertaining sport to watch and it’s
just as exciting to play. You can call your high school’s Athletic Director
to inquire about the game schedule of your local team, or look at the team's
page on this site.
ATTENTION D1 COACHES - Worthington Kilbourne HS (Columbus, Ohio) is coming to Pittsburgh on Mar. 30-31. They will be playing Mt. Lebanon on Friday night and at Franklin Regional on Saturday around midday. They are hoping to pick up another scrimmage on Saturday, late afternoon or early evening. If you are interested, call Kee Joe 412-491-9280 or keejoe@gmail.com or contact the W-K scheduler at 614-21-221-2121 or jmr@isaacbrant.com
