MT. LEBANON LOSES LAST SEVEN MINUTES
CARLISLE, PA - June 10 - Haverford won the Pennsylvania State Championship by defeating Mt. Lebanon 11-8 last night.  Haverford started the scoring in the first quarter, but Mt. Lebanon came back with two goals. The Blue Devils were able to control the ball in their offensive end for most of the first half but missed many shots making it 3-1 Mt.Lebanon at the half.  The Blue Devils came out strong in the second half, scoring four goals in the 3rd quarter and holding Haverford to three, then, in the 4th quarter, with 7 minutes left, the score 8-4 Mt. Lebanon, the Blue Devils ran out of gas. Lebo's face off man was spent, allowing Haverford to win all the face-offs and tie it up. Haverford then ran away with it, making it 11-8 Haverford for the final. "We won the game, but lost the last 7 minutes" said Brian Young, a sophomore middie for Mt. Lebanon. Scoring for Mt. Lebanon were Brad Young 3, Brian Young, Dave Johns, Brenden Young, Vince Chiodo, and John Goldschmitt.
