A Simple Guide to Help You Get Familiar With Roller Skates
If you love everything associated with roller skating and actually want to be a roller skater, something you cannot do without is a pair of roller skates. However, if you have never bought them before, it is important that you learn a bit more about different types and styles of roller skates available today.
Here it is worth mentioning that the best place to shop for these is the internet. The first thing you will notice after going online is that they are available in a variety of colors, styles, and sizes to accommodate different types of roller skaters. This implies a very important fact - that is - for different roller skaters there are different roller skates.
Recreational Roller Skates:
These are one of the most popular types of skates available today. If you are just learning how to do things properly, these are just what doctor ordered for you. They are designed to provide maximum ankle support, making it easier to skate even if you're trying this for the first time.
Outdoor Roller Skates:
As implied by the name, these skates are for outdoor use. Outdoor roller skates come with different type of wheels as compared to what you find in indoor skates. For outdoor skating, wheels should be softer. They come with both low-cut roller skate shoe and high-cut roller skate boot.
Children's Roller Skates:
There are different types of skates available for children, and parents can select one according to the place available for skating. Some of the most popular options include plastic, Velcro strap skates, and strap. Most of them are usually quite stylish and come in different colors with sleek designs.
Quad Speed Skates:
If you have some experience as a roller skater, you may want to buy a pair of Quad speed skates. These are to provide you with higher speed while skating. Wheels used in here are taller and wider as compared to normal skates. Moreover, you see a very low cut shoe when you order Quad speed skates. Some of these come with Velcro strap for better ankle support, whereas others have strap to keep your laces from being stuck in the wheels.
Purchasing the Best Roller Skates:
When you go online, you will find how many options are available to make a choice. However, you should consider a number of important things before making a purchase. For instance, it is important to know how often you are going to use your skates. It is also a good idea to determine the purpose of skating before you make a final purchase. It is so because you will have to select different skates if you are interested in recreational skating, indoor skating, outdoor skating, or speed skating. So, take all these important things into consideration before you put your money on a pair of roller skates.

Frequently Asked Questions...
I want to practice roller skating. Which one should I choose? Quad roller or inline?
Hello,
I know this is a dumb question because the answer should be obvious: "it's up to your preference."
But I have no preference. In fact, I want to know which type is more common and is getting popularity nowadays. Please give me some insight into this as I'm a complete newcomer.
Thank you.
Answer:
I've done and enjoyed both in my lifetime. The thing about quad is it's better for indoors than outdoors. If you hit one rock, you'll be doing a lipstand on the pavement. hehe. Inline are quite good for outdoor or indoor and seem to sort of push most rocks aside instead of getting jammed up. You can also get some very smooth inline blades that go super super fast (I tried a brand named Oxygen once that were awesomeness!) but if you just get a cheapo pair, they will go slower and take a bit more effort on your part while learning (which I enjoyed while learning). And if you wipe out, just relax and try to roll with it by tucking your shoulder instead of slamming down on your hands or knees. Hope you have fun and enjoy the tight buns that come with skating!
