History of the WPSLA Playoffs
In '90 it was called the Mt.
Lebanon tournament and Shady Side Academy did not participate
but the other 7 teams did. Mt. Lebanon and Upper St. Clair
played for the right to be shellacked by Sewickley. That year
we had a "B" bracket which Allegheny North [ not a typo ] won beating
Central Catholic.
1991 was the first year that
the area teams played toward an end of the season tournament with
the finals held at Shady Side Academy and the first round played
at the higher seeded teams field. The same format was followed for
'92 and '93 with the finals moved to North Allegheny. The next three
years both rounds were played at Shady Side and then the last two years
Peters Township and Mt. Lebanon hosted the finals - Peter Tulk,
