Semi-final Host Site Criteria
Listed below are pertinent items for hosting the WPSLA Semi-final playoff games.
Date: May 28, 2008 & May 29. The games are scheduled to be played on May 28. If extreme weather causes postponement or delay the games will be re-scheduled for May 29. In order to ensure that the games get played in a timely manner you must confirm that the field is available for both days. You need to provide the WPSLA with a written statement from the school stating that the field is available to the WPSLA on both dates.
Each site will host two games a Division I and Division II Semi-final game. The Division II game will start at 6:00 pm and the Division I game will start 40 minutes after the Division II game.
Details:
· Division II teams will arrive no earlier than 4:30 pm to use the locker rooms.
· Division II teams will be permitted to take the field at 5:00 pm.
· Teams will be permitted to use the locker room prior to the game and at half time of the game. Division II teams must vacate and remove all equipment prior to the start of the second half of the game. (This will allow the Division I teams to use the locker rooms prior to the start of their game.)
· Division I teams may use the locker rooms after the DII game starts the second half.
· At the conclusion of the Division II game the Division I teams will have 40 minutes until the start of their game.
1) The selected schools will provide the following at the site: event manager, usage of the field, field set up (scorers table, horn, clock), lights, locker rooms, sound system and scoreboard. All of this, except the event manager, is to be provided at no charge to the WPSLA.
2) The WPSLA will provide a representative to assist the event manger.
3) The host site will run the event as if it were a WPIAL event. The host school will provide the following: ticket takers, tickets, security, event manager, game manager, clock operator and announcer.
4) The WPSLA will keep all gate receipts but will pay any expenses for employees that the hosting school incurs. (EMT, security, event manager, ticket taker ...).
5) The host site parents will be responsible for operating the concession stand and may keep all profits from all sales from the concessions.
WPSLA Championships Host Site Criteria
This year we will be playing four games at the host site. We will have three Division Championships and one All-Star game.
Date: Saturday, May 31 with a rain date of Sunday, June 1. To ensure that the games get played in a timely manner we would like to make a request for the facilities for two days. You need to provide the WPSLA with a written statement from the school stating that the field is available to the WPSLA on both dates.
Schedule:
10:00-12:00 Division III Championship
1:00-3:00 Division II Championship
4:00-6:00 All-Star Game
7:00-9:00 Division I
Championship
Division III Championship
The Division III championship game will start at 10:00 am. Division III
teams will not be permitted on the field to warm up until 9:00 am. All Parents,
Coaches and Players must be off the game field by 12:15 pm. (Unless the game
runs exceedingly long do to weather or overtimes)
Division II Championship
The Division II championship game will start at 1:00 pm. Division II teams will not be permitted on the field to warm up until 12:15 pm. All Parents, Coaches and Players must be off the game field by 3:15 pm. (Unless the game runs exceedingly long do to weather or overtimes)
All-Star Game
Participants should arrive at the site no later than 2:30 pm to check in and receive game uniform. Team photos will be taken at 3:00 pm and teams will begin warm up at 3:15 pm. The All-Star game will start at 4:00 pm and conclude by 6:00 pm. Note that All-League Players and All-Americans will be recognized at half time of the All-Star game.
Division I Championship
Division I Championship game will start at 7:00 pm. Division I teams will not be permitted on the field to warm up until 6:15 pm.
