Tryouts for the WPSLA Underclassmen Team and 2 Keystone Teams will be on Sunday, June 6, 12:30 at Sewickley Academy's Nichols Field. Each player is responsible for completing the application/consent form and forwarding it prior to May 31 to:

Advance registration is required. We will not be accepting walk up applicants. We have a number of college coaches who have indicated they will be attending the tryouts and we need to put together a booklet with each player clearly identified. This must be completed in advance of the tryout date.

We are attempting to select the best possible team to play in the Ohio Games and the Rutgers Team Camp. In addition, we are selecting one Keystone Team from Allegheny County and one Keystone Team from all counties surrounding Allegheny but excluding the Erie Team. The Erie area will be sending its own Keystone Team. Coaches are asked to send their best players only to the tryout.

Last year we had 85 players tryout. The competition was fantastic and the resulting teams were excellent.

A selection committee comprised of no less than 10 varsity head coaches will evaluate the players and make the final selection of the teams.

Players will be notified of their selection that day.

Those making the teams will be expected to make every attempt to attend practices. The practices will be set at a later date based on field and coach availability.

Exceptions will be made to those players wishing to participate that are playing for the WPSLA Champion in the State Championship Game.

Tryout Format:

12:30-1:00    Registration
1:00-2:00    Stations- Players will be evaluated in small group drills.
2:00-3:00    Games- Players will be divided into teams and evaluated in team situations.
